Day 1: The Cape Milner Hotel, or similar (OS) Cape Town

Day 2: The Cape Milner Hotel, Cape Town

Situated below Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head, Cape Town offers a rich cultural and colonial heritage, grand splendour and an assurance of activity of excitement. Including all the `must-sees` of any Cape Town day tour, this option is a geographical and cultural extravaganza, showing you Cape Town, from its historical beginnings of yesteryear to the dazzling modern buildings of today.
The tour commences in the city bowl where we will be visiting the well preserved Company Gardens, the S.A. Museum, City Hall and the Castle of Good Hope and the vibrant and arty flea market, Greenmarket Square. We then move on to lower Long Street where one can do an optional short diamond factory tour. Next we take a trip through the colourful and picturesque Malay Quarter known as Bo-Kaap. We end the tour with a cable car trip up the legendary Table Mountain for spectacular views of the Mother City and the surrounding peninsula. (Weather permitting; cable car fee not included)

Day 3: The Cape Milner Hotel, Cape Town

This is an awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages are to be seen along the way. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world’s most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point.
The tour commences from 8am. We travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, stopping at a Maiden Cove look-out point before continuing to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach. Here you have the option to take a boat trip to Seal Island (seasonal and not included in the cost). We carry on over Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breathtaking coastal drives, to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve. The reserve is rich in magnificent fynbos vegetation, birdlife, endemic antelope species and zebra, an historic lighthouse and shipwrecks. After lunch at a nearby restaurant (not included in the cost), we travel on to Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. The tour ends at ± 17:30 after a visit to the well-known Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Day 4: The Cape Milner Hotel, Cape Town

This delightful drive winds its way to the heart of the Cape winelands, through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. The tour commences from 8am and we head off to wine-country via the N1 on to one of the Cape’s first farming districts – Paarl. The town is set at the foot of a cluster of remarkable granite domes from which it takes its name. Our first stop of the morning is a local wine estate. An informative cellar tour and wine tasting gives visitors personalised insight into the finer points of wine-making. Proceed to the town of Franschhoek, historically dating back to the 17th century when the French Huguenots arrived. Billed as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, this charming town, in a most picturesque valley, retains a French Huguenot style. Franschhoek complements the artistry of its chefs and winemakers with the breathtaking beauty of its setting. Here we have time to enjoy the fabled culinary skills of the chefs at one of the many award winning restaurants (not included in cost). Onward to Stellenbosch, via the scenic Helshoogte Pass, the heart of the South African wine Industry, boasting great beauty and culture that is steeped in South African history. Walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. Coffee shops, galleries, antique shops and wine bars spill onto the sidewalks. An air of quiet intellectualism and wine-making history abounds in this university town. With the sheer vastness of wine estates on offer, we are truly spoilt for choice when we enjoy our final wine tasting of the day in Stellenbosch. We return to the bustle of city life after an enthralling day in the countryside, arriving back at the hotels at approximately 17:30.

Day 5: Shiduli Private Game Lodge, (OS) Kruger Private Reserve

Day 6: Shiduli Private Game Lodge, Kruger Private Reserves

Day Itinerary
The next two days will be spent exploring the world-renowned Greater Kruger wildlife area with its diversity of life forms, in search of Africa’s Big Five. Keep those cameras ready on game drives in open safari vehicles and/or bush walks and cultural excursions!

Day 8: Safari Club SA, (OS) Johannesburg

Johannesburg
Johannesburg is one of Africa’s biggest and most vibrant cities. It is the economic capital of Africa and the gateway to Southern Africa. Although not as famous as other South African destinations, there is plenty to do in Johannesburg and nearby Pretoria. The old city is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra modern skyscrapers. There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest. The shopping is Southern Africa’s best and the many restaurants cater for all tastes. The nearby township of Soweto is Johannesburg’s most popular tourist attraction.

Day Itinerary
Today we include a Private Road transfer from Shiduli Private Game Lodge to Johannesburg. We drive via the Panorama Route for sightseeing (this is a full day transfer, please NOTE: All entry fees are for your own expense).

Safari Club SA is a lodge with an African theme located in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Club is centrally situated in the economic heartland of South Africa – Gauteng Province. The capital city, Pretoria, is approximately 50km away and Johannesburg only 18km. Emperor’s Palace, a world class casino with more than 12 restaurants, is only 7km down the road. The well-known Pilanesberg area with its nature reserves and Sun City complex is 150km by road and it is 400km to the world-renowned Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga. The Club has a luxurious yet homely ambience. The public areas comprise lounges, a bar, a business centre as well as a separate breakfast room. A beautiful new swimming pool has been installed to ensure the comfort and relaxation of guests during the hot African summer. Day 9: Ilala Lodge, (OS) Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Resting on the southern banks of the Zambezi River at the western end of the eponymous falls, this popular tourist town is compact enough to walk around and makes an ideal base for travellers exploring the seventh wonder of the world, the unfathomably vast Victoria Falls. About two thirds of the falls can be viewed from the Zimbabwean side and, while the falls are undoubtedly the star attraction, the area provides both adventure seekers and sightseers with plenty of opportunities to warrant a longer stay. Popular activities include scenic flights over the falls in helicopters or micro lights, bungee jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge, white-water rafting (seasonal), and day trips to Chobe National Park. The town itself offers some excellent accommodation and restaurant options as well as an eclectic variety of African curios and authentic art sold by friendly Zimbabwean locals who are wonderfully welcoming and eager to help you enjoy your stay.

Return to OR Tambo Airport in time for your flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (flight is NOT included). On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport you will be met and transferred to Ilala Lodge, where you will be spending the following two nights. At sunset you will partake in a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.

Day 11: Chobe Marina Lodge, (OS) Chobe River Front

Chobe River Front
The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its reliable and diverse game viewing. Safaris are conducted both by boat and on land. This section of the park is best known for its elephant and hippo populations but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them.

Day Itinerary
After breakfast a road transfer will take you across the Zimbabwean border to Chobe Marina Lodge, which is situated in Kasane, Botswana bordering the great Chobe National Park. After lunch and a siesta you will you will have the option of your first game activity which will be either a boat cruise or a game drive in the Chobe National Park in search of Africa’s Big Five.
